From www.tributearchive.com: "Nancy Virginia Neville, 74, wife of Charles, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. Loving mother of Eric Neville (Laura) and Mark Neville (Lisa). Proud grandmother of Elle, Reed, Mila, and Layla. Dear sister of Cheryl Wright, and devoted aunt of Gillian Spencer (Matt, M.D.), Marley Kanda (Isamu), and Flannery Foster (Geoff). Nancy received her Bachelors of Arts from Eastern Michigan University in 1967 and taught junior high (English, Art, and History) for 10 years. In 1975 she married Charles Neville and had two sons, Mark and Eric. She taught figure skating from 1977 to 1982. In 1982 she returned to school, graduating in 1986 (age 42) with a degree in Nursing. She was a Trauma Nurse at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital, until retiring in 1998. She loved to be creative, whether it was decorating our home, painting, writing poetry, or an art project with her grandchildren. She appreciated the beauty and wonder of nature. She loved animals, watching birds, flowers, being by the water, and experiencing new places. She traveled throughout the U.S. and across Europe and was always captivated by the people and places she visited, displaying all of her travel mementos for others to enjoy. During the boy's high school years she was the "cool mom". She was the unofficial high school counselor for our friends. She held office hours in her living room while smoking Newport lights with them, working through lifes problems - things they didnt tell their own parents. Over the past few months our family has spoken with many of Nancy's friends. Every friend started the conversation with: your mom is amazing, your mom is one of a kind, she was the best. The next sentence from all of them was "your mom helped me with…" Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 5-8pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel) 32515 Woodward Ave (between 13-14 Mile). A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 1:00pm. Memorial Tributes suggested to Nurses House or Michigan Children's Foundation."
