I LOVE retirement! I am so busy I don't know how I found the time to work! Among other things I play in a ukulele group, take an acting workshop, belong to the Saint Bernard Club of America, a Hollywood Bowl subscriber, and enjoy going out into my backyard in the morning to pick an orange off the tree for breakfast.



I've spoken with so many nice people on the search for missing classmates that I'm really looking forward to the reunion.

Well, my life has changed since the reunion. At a time in life when my friends are losing their husbands or getting divorced, I have finally (unexpectedly) found myself with the nicest man in the world! I've been alone so long that it is difficult, but definitely worth it.

I am playing my sax again and I'm about to join the LAPD concert band. My boyfriend is already a member. Life just keeps getting better and better. I am so grateful!

2019 Update
The ukulele group went down the tubes several years ago and I have been playing in the LAPD concert band and Swing Band. We have played at the Reagan Library, the L.A. Colliseum, Forest Lawn, and in May we got to go to Washington DC to play. We had VIP seats to a talk on the Capitol lawn where the keynote speaker was the president! It was a once in a lifetime experience!

2019
Well, Rudy & I got married. My new name is Nancy Detgen. In addition we bought a house in Arizona and we will be moving in October. :-)

2020
We LOVE Arizona! No homeless, no graffiti, no traffic, no trash allover the streets, etc. We bought a bigger, newer, much nicer house for HALF of what it costs in California and bought solar and an RV. No more $900 DWP bills! The electric company here owes US money. LOL! It is like a different world than California. I loved the California that I moved to in 1974. That California no longer exists! It is really a shame.

This virus thing is going to bankrupt our country in my opinion, but it has had little effect on us (except my birthday dinner was take out - LOL) It is giving us the opportunity to fix up the house. We go for walks in the evening. Since we are retired we don't have to go to work every day, so we stay home and play our saxes and just enjoy life.
